A very wise man named Rick Hansen once said," it is isn't about what happened to you, it's about what you make of those challenges that really matters". Life is like a roller coaster. It is full of ups, downs, twists and turns that when combined altogether make for one crazy ride.

Life is also unexpected. I never know what is going to be around the next corner, but it is worth hanging on because, I never know when something exciting is about to happen.

Life is not always easy, but if I am being perfectly honest, I would not change one single aspect of my life because, I love who I am. I am extremely grateful for every single challenge in my life because each one of those challenges has reinforced the importance of never giving up, even though giving up may seem so much eaiser than to keep moving forward sometimes

I have met many people who don't understand how I can be so happy and positive, despite my disability. I have no reason to be angry because, I have learned that I can do anything that I set my mind to, it just might be in a different way than most people and, that's okay.

My crooked journey has taken me to so many amazing places. When I was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at fourteen months of age, my parents were told only of things that I would never be able to, but they refused to take no for an answer. I would like to share with everyone that we should never let someone set a limit on our personal abilities because just like a roller coaster, life is full of endless possibilities. I am extremely adventurous and I refuse to let my disability stop me from doing the things that I want to do. I learned how to eventually walk with a walker and, most recently, I accomplished my life long goal of walking across the stage with fore arm crutches to recieve my high school diploma, even though many people were skeptical that I would make this dream a reality. I have had the opportunity to learn how to ski, even though this is something that I thought I was never going to experience. And, probably one of my most exciting experiences was the opportunity to meet my role model, Rick Hansen. The future is full of uncertainty and, I think that is why this roller coaster we call life can appear so scary sometimes because, have no way of knowing what is around the next corner. If I had made the choice to give up rather than keep moving forward despite my challenges, I would not be where I am today. Fear is the biggest disability of all. I don't know what the holds for me, but I do know that no matter happens, positivity conquers all.
