I am a Ninja!

One of the most difficult things I have had to face is a lesson that I am still learning. It is completely okay to have a bad day. Having a positive attitude is what has helped get through some very difficult times in my life and prevail. However, I think that allowing yourself to be upset in the face of adversity can be therapeutic. When we do not allow ourselves to feel our inward emotions and let them out, it can ultimately hinder us from moving forward. No one ever said that life is supposed to be easy, or that this journey we are on is going to be all sunshine and rainbows. I have said before that there have been many times where I found myself wishing that I could escape from my body, but I don’t have the ability to alter my reality, or escape pain from muscle spasms, and the overwhelming frustrations that come with having a brain that miscommunicates with my body. But I do have control over how I react to each one of my challenges because no matter what we are going through, the ability to choose is something that will always be there.

I have learned that taking the time to talk about how you feel does not make us weak. It is about letting go of any emotions that may be weighing you down, so that you can find the strength deep inside of you to get back up and fight again. I am sure that we have all encountered a situation where it may seem easier just to surrender and throw in the towel, rather than choosing to keep moving forward.

One of the most amazing human beings I know calls me a ninja, and I call her a ninja.

This week, all I could about was how my incredible circle of family and friends have made me the person who I am. Sometimes, it can be really hard to remain positive in the face of adversity. I know this from personal experience, but it is the people in my life that never fail to remind me that I am strong enough to make it through anything life throws at me.

One of my favorite quotes is by the famous basketball player, Michael Jordan. “Obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.
