Life is like a Box of Chocolates!

One of my all- time favorite movies is, Forrest Gump. Growing up, I must have watched it at least one hundred times. It has always been a source of encouragement and a repetitive reminder that even though life does not always turn out the way that we initially hoped it would, everything happens for a reason, and eventually, everything will be okay.
One of my favorite quotes from the movie is, life is like a box of chocolates. You never what you’re gonna get. I have said before that life is like a rollercoaster. It is full ups, downs, twists and turns that when combined altogether make for one crazy ride. Sometimes life can be scary, but I think our fear comes from the fact that we do not know what is around the next corner. We cannot predict the future.
My biggest fear has always been that I would miss out on “normal”, everyday opportunities because of my challenges. If I am being completely honest, I have faced and I still am facing times where I doubt my own capabilities. However, the truth is, if you spend a great deal of time occupying yourself with feelings of self- doubt, the greater the chance that you will miss out on the adventures that are waiting right outside your door. Life is an adventure that is meant to be lived and loved. Yesterday, I faced one of my biggest fears head on. I went to the University of Lethbridge for a tour. Recently, I applied for university. If I get accepted, I hope to attend the University come January with an amazing young woman who I am so happy to call my friend. Yes. Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you are going to get. Life is full of uncertainties, but there is no way of knowing until you try.
Go get em’, peeps!
