What Makes Me Happy.

Throughout my life, I have learned that no matter what you go through, things always have a way of turning themselves around. I have no words to express the gratitude that I have for the amazing people in my life. The people who make me laugh. The people who offer me support and encouragement. The people who take me for who I am, regardless of my challenges. And, the people who help me to realize my self- worth when life throws me a curve ball. I truly do not think that my family, friends and co- workers know just how special they are. The experiences that I have encountered, especially over the past few weeks have forced me to think about what brings me joy and happiness.

My job is just one aspect of my life that brings me indescribable joy. Seeing the smiles on the faces of the children that I work with on a daily basis makes my heart happy. There is not a day that goes by that I forget about that I have Cerebral Palsy. However, when I drive through the doors of my work place every afternoon, it is if my challenges are completely non- existent. Some people may view me as different or vulnerable because of my different ability, but to my family, friends and co- workers, I am just, Becca and that means the absolute world to me.

The truth is, we have no way of foreseeing the challenges we will face in our life, but there is one thing that I am certain of. With those who are important to us by our side, we can make it through anything life throws at us, and come out of it stronger than we were before.
