Who Says!

As I sat down to write this blog post, my mind kept drifting back to a scene from the movie Forrest Gump, where he is being fitted for his first pair of leg braces. While recounting his experience, he recalls his mother referring to his braces as his " magic shoes". Then, he says something that still resonates with me. " I never thought they'd take me anywhere!

This blog is an emotional one for me to write, because throughout my life, there have been many times where I doubted my abilities. There have been times where I wondered if I would ever amount to anything, if I would ever achieve my goals, or if I would be able to live a " normal"  life. It took me a long to come to the realization that the hurtful, demeaning remarks of others hold no value if we choose not to listen. If I want something, I am going to chase after it. I might fall flat on my face (literally) and hit a couple road blocks along the way, but that is part of what makes the journey towards achieving your personal goals so rewarding.

Sometimes, I still surprise myself.

From learning to walk with a walker to being able to walk two kilometers on fore arm crutches, life has taught me that anything is possible.

Last night on a spontaneous drive to Taco Bell, my friend and I listened to Who Says by, Selena Gomez. The song sums up my message for today. The link to the music video is down below.

To all of my readers who have ever found themselves doubting their abilities, you are beautiful, you are worth it, and I believe you can do anything you set your mind to.

The only person who can set limits on your abilities is you.

What would you do if you had no limits?
