Breathe.

Inhale courage. Exhale fear. This is a notion that can be extremely difficult to grasp at times. It is definitely easier said than done, and yet, all it requires us to do is breathe; a natural ability we have had since the moment we entered this world. So, why is it so hard? It becomes difficult, because sometimes, life throws you challenges that have the ability to make you feel as though you are trapped inside the strong winds of a tornado. It may become difficult, because you are dwelling on your past mistakes and shortcomings. It is difficult, because you wonder what you could’ve or should’ve done differently. It is difficult because there are times in life where everything feels uncertain. It becomes difficult when you wonder if you will ever escape your pain. It becomes difficult, because sometimes, you lose sight of what life is really all about.

Cerebral Palsy is without a doubt my biggest nemesis, but it is also my blessing in disguise. I have learned so many lessons as a result of living everyday with the disorder. It is my silent teacher. It has taught me that in life, there will always be struggles, but it has taught me how to live my life in spite of those struggles, too.

Living life in the moment is a breathtakingly beautiful thing, because for a short period of time, we forget about all of the challenges and negative thoughts that were weighing us down. In that moment, nothing else matters. Peeps, in those moments, please don’t forget to breathe. Don’t forget to soak it all in, because you might need those memories to remind you why life is so amazing later!

So go ahead, make some memories.
